Last October, I led a photography tour in Croatia. It was a ten-day trip where we explored the highlights of the Dalmatian Coast, Plitvice Lakes National Park, the Istrian Peninsula, and a few other locations, finishing in Zagreb. The photography opportunities were outstanding—a beautiful blend of seascapes, architecture, street scenes, landscapes, and nature.
Traveling in October allowed us to avoid the peak tourist season, creating a more relaxed atmosphere. This made it easier to connect with locals and enjoy the experience without the usual pressure of mass tourism.
Here, I’m sharing some of the photos I captured during our trip. Instead of focusing on the classic views, I sought out different angles, perspectives, and subjects. Having photographed Croatia for over 15 years, this approach felt especially rewarding to me.

In many ways, Croatia feels like home to me. I spend a significant amount of time each year in this incredible country. Living so close, I have the privilege of simply driving to Croatia for a day or two whenever the conditions look promising for photography. What a blessing!
If you’re interested in photographing Croatia yourself, consider joining me for my Autumn photography workshop at Plitvice Lakes and Una National Parks. Here are some photos to inspire you. I’m also planning a Winter workshop focused on seascapes on Croatia’s islands—subscribe to my newsletter to be notified when it’s announced.
