Matkov Kot is a beautiful glacial valley located in Slovenia. It’s nestled in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, and it’s a popular destination for hikers, nature lovers, and photographers. This valley is unique because it’s one of the few valleys in the Slovenian Alps that remains undeveloped and retains its pristine natural beauty. The valley has a rich diversity of flora and fauna, with many species that are endemic to the region. One of the notable features of the valley is Matkov Škaf, an enormous snow “cave” filled by an avalanche in the winter, which often doesn’t melt until well into the summer. This natural ice cave is a sight to behold.
This is a trip report with video and photos from my recent visit to Matkov Škaf. I was accompanied by my friend Dan Briški, an accomplished photographer and experienced mountain climber. We did some ice climbing and some creative photography. Check out the last photo and tell me what you think! Enjoy the journey and thank you!

Fantastična rdeče osvetljena. In tudi sicer fotografije, res užitek gledati. Težko je zajeti kako je res v živo gledati take prizore, ampak tvoje delo se temu zelo približa.
Hvala za lepe besede in obisk Ana!
